Living sacred is about self-respect. It’s about becoming our best selves so we can be better to others. How will you live sacred?
Established in September 2017, Chelsea Williams created Live Sacred DC in response to the growing need for conscious, plant-based wellness events in the Washington, DC area. Originally hosted at the District’s first ever plant-based lifestyle shop, Take Care, Chelsea was reminded that something powerful happens when women gather together in small, intimate settings to encourage each other and share stories. After the overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees, Chelsea transitioned Live Sacred DC into an ongoing series. Each meeting has a different theme.
Our temples are sacred, what we eat should be sacred, what we wear and apply should be sacred, the ground we stand on is sacred. Our thoughts, actions, and words should be sacred. Our lives are sacred. We are so thankful for our community of women that have made a recommitment to living sacred. Living sacred is all about self-respect. It’s about becoming our best selves so we can be better to others. How will you live sacred? Let us know using the hashtag #livesacreddc.
“Love, love, the Live Sacred DC event! I had such a great experience. It was an intimate setting and the energy was amazing. Chelsea has this beautiful loving energy. I felt so inspired to take daily actions to care myself a little more. We had a guided meditation thanks to Joanna. Each of us had an opportunity to share about ourselves and learn about simple self-care techniques. And, don’t forget the goodies: a happiness journal with lovely, inspiring quotes, notebooks for self-reflection, flowers, fresh pressed juice, and on… This was amazing for me because, in this world where we are rushing to complete the tasks on our to-do list, taking the time to listen to our inner voice is essential. This Live Sacred DC event just does that!! It gave me the space to push the pause button, look at my beautiful self, and acknowledge how sacred I am. Wow, I can’t believe I just said the words my beautiful and sacred self. I guess I remembered Chelsea telling us “Taking care of ourselves is taking care of the sacred life that was given to us”.
